    About

    The studio

I’m Jackson Williams. I turn wood to highlight what’s already there—grain, figure, contrast, and the quiet details that make a piece feel alive. Each form is designed for balance in the hand and presence on the shelf.

    Respect the material
Let the species and figure lead the design—minimal fuss, maximum character.
    Clean lines, honest finishes
Durable, repairable finishes that age well and feel good in use.
    Made to be kept
Pieces are built for everyday life—then elevated enough to display.
    Process

    From blank to heirloom

    1) Select & prepare
Choose sound stock, orient grain, rough-turn if needed, and stabilize where appropriate.
    2) Shape & refine
Establish the silhouette, tune the foot, and refine transitions for clean flow.
    3) Sand & finish
Progressive sanding and a finish matched to the piece (display, daily use, or gift).
    4) Pack & deliver
Safe shipping and careful presentation—ready for gifting or gallery display.
“The best pieces feel inevitable—like the wood was always meant to become that form.”
    Commissions

    Make it personal

Commissions are ideal for meaningful gifts, retirement awards, wedding pieces, memorial keepsakes, and “match this style” requests. I’ll confirm timeline, wood options, finish, and a clear price before any work begins.

    What to include
Piece type, approximate size, preferred species (if any), and 1–3 inspiration photos.
    Typical timeline
Varies by complexity and drying needs. I’ll provide a realistic estimate upfront.
    Finishes
Display-grade and food-safe options available depending on the piece.
